Used armchairs: what we look for
With upholstered furniture, the interior construction is what matters: coil springs, webbing, and foam. We inspect the frame and upholstery and clean the leather and fabric. Whether an armchair has its original upholstery or has been reupholstered is stated for each piece, along with photos from all sides, dimensions, and a condition description.

Frequently asked questions about armchairs
What is the difference between a cocktail chair and a club chair?
The cocktail chair is light and narrow and stands on slender wooden legs, typical of the 1950s. The club chair is heavy, deep, and usually made of leather, typical of the 1920s to 1940s.
Can an old armchair be reupholstered?
Yes, this is common with vintage armchairs and preserves the frame for decades to come.
Which armchair goes with a vintage sofa?
Not necessarily the same one. A cocktail chair beside a simple sofa or a leather armchair with a fabric sofa creates a livelier look than a complete set.
Are old armchairs comfortable?
Often more comfortable than new ones because coil springs and horsehair adapt to the body. You can try it out in the showroom.
